Blog Journal #8
I learned a lot of new skills though working on the website assignment. I learned how to link a page to another page, add videos, and add hyperlinks. I also learned how to make a website in general, I had done it once before but I was not good at it at all. I liked the creativity of the assignment and that I was able to use wix instead of weekly because I was much more comfortable with wix. What I did not like was the time commitment, I spent several hours on it in hopes of receiving a high pass. What I learned in this assignment can be used in my future career because I can make a website for my classroom when I become a teacher.

I have learned many things while working with Diigo. I have learned to make sure that credibility is established. I have also learned how to annotate effectively, and how to bookmark. I have also learned to use sticky notes for important information. This can be really useful in my classroom because my students can ensure that their articles are strong sources, and credible. It can also be helpful with team members because we can share our resources on a shared group. Finally, it is helpful to me specifically because I can bookmark important documents to my Diigo to refer to at any time,
Technology and teacher professional development go hand and hand. Without technology in this day and age, teachers would not be able to thrive. There are so many resources that are available online to ensure academic success. There are games, articles, and videos for every topic you can imagine. It is very important that teachers stay up to date with the times and the technology. Meaning if there is a new application that seems to be working well in the classroom, the teacher should do their best to implement this.
This website is really good because it has the top five trends in k-12 education and it will continue to update. This will help me stay informed on the newest technology.
Hi Samantha!! I checked out your website and I really liked it!!! It was very easy to navigate and you had so much helpful information. In regards to the C.R.A.P. Principle, I would say that overall you did an awesome job. All of the text and fonts were similar and the colors you used complimented each other. You made sure not to leave a ton of blank space on certain webpages too, which was a nice touch. The only think I would improve upon is the parent resoruces page, where it looks a little busy. Once again, great job!!
ReplyDeleteHi Sam! I really like your website! It is very colorful but has a nice contrast where the words are still very easily readable! The website also has a nice theme to it where the fonts you chose are repeated throughout the entire website. You are very consistent with the website in your layouts of your pages. For the most part, when you have a title of text, you have it center aligned; when you have a body of text, it is left justified. You made the website very easy to use and filled the space nicely. My only critique is that it is a pet peeve of mine when the website menu icons at the top of the page are grouped under "more." I would've liked to have seen that expanded so all menu items appear at the top. Otherwise, really great work!!
ReplyDeleteHi Samantha! I enjoyed browsing your website as it was very user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing. In regards to your use of the C.R.A.P Principle, you employed a great use of contrast as unique elements of your blog could be distinguished which allowed readers eyes to flow naturally throughout the website. Also, the fonts and colors of your text created repetition that established a pattern of consistency. My only critique is that the parents resources page is slightly distracting as it appears to be very busy filled with graphics, vibrant colors, and word art. Overall, you created a great teacher website that is both informative and fun.
