Blog Journal #10
I learned several skills from assignment number five. I learned how to hyperlink powerpoint slides to other slides. I also learned how to turn off the manual forward and back buttons to my slides and add my own buttons. I liked that I had full creativity on the assignment. I could make my choose your own adventure story be whatever I wanted it to be. What I didn't like was that the assignment was due right after spring break. I know that we have a lot of things that we need to do in a short period of time, but I did not want to work over spring break so I had a lot to do in just a few short days.
I will use data collection and survey tools a lot as a teacher for elementary aged kids with special needs. I will need to know what my students like and don't like about the class. I will also use survey tools and data connection for the parents of the students in my class. I will need to know what they think and if there is anything that I can improve on. It is really important to conduct surveys otherwise nothing is going to change for the better.
From reviewing my classmates' blogs it sounds silly but one of things that I found the most interesting was that everyone's blog looks so different. For instance, Ben's looks very professional. It looks like a real website that is full of color and follows the CRAP principal perfectly. Whereas, Cristina's blog follows the CRAP principal as well but it is very different. There are lighter colors and the blog is the central focus.
I have not done any tech-flex challenges in this class or earned any digital badges. My grade has been high enough that they weren't necessary. However, I can reflect on the opportunity of having them in the first place. I think it is really nice that these are on option if we are in need of a token but we ran out. Dan He really wants us all to be successful in her class and it shows. It is really nice.
A technology skill that I would like to learn next is how to use a digital board. In school, many of my teachers used a digital board to teach. It was really effective and the students (including myself) learned a lot. I want to learn how to use a digital board because everything is going digital in this day and age, especially schooling. So, it is important to keep up and make sure that my skills are up to date. I will achieve this goal by asking my professors to show me some skills using the digital board. I will also watch YouTube videos and search google for any quick facts/tutorials.
Thank you so much for your nice words about my blog! I really appreciate it! Your blog is set up so nicely too!
